It was a bittersweet morning for Ben and me. It was time to pack up and leave Paris. We spent a bit of time taking a morning stroll down the rue (street). We stopped in a quaint jewelry store. The owner did not speak any English. After much body language and confusion, I happily walked out of there with an amethyst ring and a cute pair of earrings. Then we went to a chocolate store we'd been wanting to try. The owner spoke a little English. We picked out a box of chocolates for our friends that are Alfie (car) sitting for us. She insisted on giving us a couple of chocolates for us. We devoured them on our way out of the store. Within seconds we were drooling for more. So we quickly stepped right back in for more.
Then it was time to leave for real. We gathered our luggage and our bag of memories and headed to the metro. One subway, one eurostar train, and one national rail train later, we arrived in King's Lynn, UK, which is in or near (not really sure which) Norfolk.
We are up in this area to visit "Aunt Betty". Aunt Betty is the older sister of Norman Lodge. For those that don't know Ben's family, Norm is Ben's grandfather on his mother's side. Confused yet?
We are staying in this area until Sunday. Liz and Aubrey are staying with Betty. Betty is not a witness but is studying. When the sister who conducts het study heard about all of us visiting, she kindly opened up her home to us. Betty is quite impressed with this display of our brotherhood. So Alexia, Reuel, Ben, and I are staying with Nadia. Nadia is quite a lively host. She has been in truth since the mid 1950's. She attended the assembly at Yankee Stadium in 1958. She seems to have much spiritual heritage. She and her mom got baptized at the same assembly. First she got baptized and then had to change so her mom could use her bathing suit!
No pictures to blog today as we don't have internet where we are staying. I'll take advantage of free WiFi when we find it.
