Spiritual Paradise

We finally have wifi access! It is only 15 minutes so I'll try to make this post count.

The convention is over. Sunday was especially amazing. In the afternoon we sat in the main stadium with the Zulu friends. The brothers made arrangements to sit the foreign delegates in the aged and infirm section. They sat us in the very front row right in front of the stage. It was amazing! We enjoyed the drama and the final talk by Brother Mark Sanderson. By the way, he stayed at the same hotel as us. We saw him at breakfast every morning. He made a moving comment that we are not black. we are not white. we are not South African. We are not American. We are Jehovahs Witnesses!

We weren't ready to leave. We got mobbed by old and young alike trying to get our pens. At one point, I literally got pushed against a wall with nothing but hands at my face. We also got numerous hugs. Many locals couldn't wait to get their picture taken with us. One American sister staying at our hotel also visited the Zulu section and said that they were disappointed she wasn't white. Maybe that is why we were so popular. We gave ties to some brothers.  One brother cried when Kimmy gave him one.

For our Sunday lunch boxes, local children drew on each lunch box. All the delegates saved their boxes. It was super sweet.

Friday we had 12,000 people at the convention. By Sunday we had 20,101!  On saturday 111 got baptized.

As we departed from the convention, sisters broke out into a traditional celebratory song and dance. They are wild! By the end of the day we had to stop handing out gifts so we could save some for field service and bethel..

My time is up. More another time. We are deprived of wifi. Sorry.
