We arrived in Hanoi after traveling for around 25 hours from the time we left my parents' house until we arrived at our hotel. We were a bit on the exhausted side. Hanoi is hot and humid. Our hotel, Charming Hotel, was in fact quite charming. They called us by name and were genuinely friendly. I love Vietnamese culture! We had yummy breakfasts at the hotel including phở for breakfast. Now we are truly Viet!
The streets are busy and loud. Lots and lots of motor bikes and scooters weave in between cars and scooters. Then there are the pedestrians that somehow fit into this chaotic mess. Yet it all works. We feel like we were playing Frogger when crossing the street.
Remember Lori Harris? My friend from Houston? She met up with us for one day here. We seem to only see her in foreign countries. She was sick, but we still had a blast! We had an easy day but jammed in a bunch of activities like a sightseeing tour, Starbucks, and a meeting with a local congregation! At one point, a brother even stood in the middle of the street to block traffic so that we could cross safely. The hall was completely packed. The singing was loud and encouraging! I'll treasure that forever. 
We stumbled upon a delicious restaurant where the owner was in the top 7 of MasterChef Vietnam. Funny thing is that her husband is German so the menu contains a combination of German and Viet food.

Today we travel to Hoi An. Can't wait! Let the adventure continue!
